But beyond discussions of gardening terminology, I simply HAD to post a few looks from the Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture show. It was beyond breathtaking and, in my opinion, has vastly outshone the other fall couture shows so far this year.

The elaborate construction, imagery, innovation and whimsy are just amazing. Not to mention the set design. Absolutely stunning. And oddly reminiscent of the talking flowers in Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll...
Maybe it was the intense fantasy quotient of Dior, but most of the other couture shows seem to have been a little less than overwhelming so far. Chanel failed to knock my socks off (then again, it's hard to beat a massive imported glacier, even with a gigantic golden lion. Sorry Lagerfeld.), Valentino still hasn't fully regained the glamour of the Valentino Garavani collections, and the Givenchy "skeleton" collection, though beautiful in it's own way, was just a bit creepy.
Elie Saab, however, did come out with some really amazing pieces that I sincerely hope will not be overlooked in the Dior hype.
